Mud Packing

Scar Sites, Interference Fields and the Ancient Art of Mud Packing

As a Registered Massage Therapist I have found scar tissue treatments to be essential to the repair, health and circulation of the body. They must be addressed for whole body health to occur! In school we are taught to treat scar sites with frictions to increase circulation and break up dense adhesion, followed by stretching to re align the tissue. Deep fascial on and around the scars, bones and organs is one of the most effective ways to improve circulation improve the lymphatic drainage and so much more! In my training as a Quantum Reflex Analysis (QRA) Practitioner I was introduced to interference fields and Mud Packing. This ancient art of applying specialized mud to the scar sites to repair the electrical signals of the tissue and cells.

Interference fields

Surgeries, injuries, traumas, scars and injection sites may cause Interference Fields. “Every injury or trauma, whether it’s chemical, mechanical, electrical or otherwise, can produce disturbances in the electrical function of tissues and leave behind metabolites in the repair process.” Injuries to the tissue can cause a break in the electrical signal or dysfunction in the meridian system. Not only can this decrease intra and extra cellular balance but can also cause restriction in the fascia and muscle, movement of the joints, organ function and electrical signals or “Charge” of the body. Mud Packing can aid the detoxification process of the scar site and its reflex.

Dr Kidd writes in his book, Applied Neurophysiology and Other Topics “Interference fields can be found in almost any part of the body, and their location does not necessarily coincide with the location of the dysautonomia.”-

Mud Packing Therapy

A mud packing session generally involves a questionnaire regarding scar sites. Kinesiological muscle strength testing and the application of sea algae mud to the body.
